New guy, expensive lunch and Crazy Horse
it was a chore to go to work today, and i was greeted with tons of emails waiting to be answered.
i had insomnia last nite lor! ended up falling asleep only nearly 4am. and was up before 7.30.
this morning was cold man! i was shivering after taking my shower, and had to wrap myself in a blanket for a while before i get changed coz i was chattering and shaking uncontrollably. luckily the traffic today wasn’t that bad and i was on time though i left the house late.
after an hour’s work to clear all outstanding emails, the dept had a pre-budget meeting to wrap up for the year. and damn it, the meeting was brought forward. and i have not started my budget lor. *sian*
then we were told that a guy will be attached to our dept (from one of my directors’ other company) to come for ‘internship’ as well as tap our customers to solicit business for another product. oh well, nothing fantastic lar. just ordinary looking only. not my type anyway. or rather, not attracted to the opposite species for the time being anyway. =P ok, i know he’s same age as me, from malaysia. but that was anyway found out by my colleague, not me lor.
and the bad thing is, he’s going to sit at the table next to me lor! darn….
my place used to be a good fengshui place, coz i’m sitting at the back row, with no one beside me, so no one will be able to see my pc screen (ma2e should be able to know what i’m talking about). now someone has to sit beside me!!!!!! loss of privacy!!!! *sob sob*
and to be frank, i’m damn dao to new people lor. i also duno what to talk to him. plus i’ve been too busy today to strike a conversation of more than 5 sentences. and i think he looks dao too. *heehee*
and my DGM had to aim me first to introduce some of my customers to him to talk to. coz i’m conveniently sitting beside him, so he’s kinda attached to me. *bleah*
why? why? why?
anyway, time passed quite fast today to feel tired or bored. after the meeting, picking up some stationary for the new guy, replying to emails and drafting some contracts, it was nearly lunch time.
i tell u, my company’s stationary stock is freaking pathetic lor. i duno whether to laugh or cry. i was trying to gather some stationary for this guy and all i could get was a blue, red and black pen, and a pencil. plus a koyak hole puncher that doesn’t work perfect.
no ruler, no stapler, no paper clips, nothing. out of stock. *rolls eyes*
i really duno wat to say lor.

we had a departmental lunch today also, at Garibaldi Italian Resaturant & Bar at Purvis Street. apparently it is the most expensive italian restaurant in singapore. i didn’t really enjoy my food there, coz i think i chose the wrong dishes. SC, who was sitting beside me, got the food that better suit my tastebuds. we had chosen different food so that we can pinch from each other’s dishes, but unfortunately, whatever i’ve chosen wasn’t as good as hers, i felt. i love the mushroom penne she’s got. this is one main u should choose if u like cheesy food. the cheese taste is fantastic! and the mushroom smell is strong and nice. *slurp*
there was this gourmet menu that was on it. and it cost $99+++. i should have chosen this lor. but was initially not in my choice coz it was like very ex and i was too paiseh to order it. then after having ordered my food, i realised that a lot of others actually chose that set menu. darn. i shouldn’t have ordered so early. they serve foie gras lor in that 5-course meal!!! i pinched a piece of it from LW, and it was ssooooooooooo nice!!! *awwwwww* heck the cholesterol!
mine was a four-course meal, and i think only the best thing was the chocolate mousse which i’ve got. kaoz, very rich. and my boss who couldn’t eat things too sweet, gave me his hazelnut ice cream. that was freaking fantastic too! hazelnut taste was so strong and flavourful. and that was the sweetest dessert i’ve had.

during the lunch, one of my colleagues actually hinted to my boss if he wanted to watch Crazy Horse and if we could organise a dept outing there. to my surprise he didn’t object. woohoo~ so we made plans to go after the first day of budget meeting, and even made plans to go MoS after that.
wahhh~ we were just testing water. and got approved! so next week i’ll be going to the cabaret theatre! weeeeeeee~
******
the bill came up to $1735 for 15 pax! wow! the killer was the 3 bottles of wine which came up to nearly $500. not really that worth it, i think.
after lunch, we thanked the boss who paid for the bill. he muttered instead, “thank you [insert director's name] instead. *heeeheee* company’s account!
anyway, i’m feeling hungry now. the food didn’t fill the whole of my tummy, though i did feel a teeny weeny bit full.
i would like to taste the foie gras again though……..*dreaming of it*
