“Bestblogforward” meme contest
recently i realised i've been posting up lotsa crap entries (like those "do you know" things) to make up for the senseless entries about myself. i felt like i lost the touch about writing some in-depth things (maybe that is why there seemed to be less comments now) which i couldn't churn out.
then i told myself, "i am writing for myself, not for anyone else." so i didn't care much about other things. just write whatever i felt.
i guess that the upcoming exam has also used up much of my brain juices.
recent me has been rather monotonous, nothing exciting happening. i didn't have much time now to actually go surfing around other blogs too, only those whom i've linked.
but i realised Nadnut has just tagged me with something quite difficult..oh dear! (difficult in the sense that my blog doesn't garner much readership and that all posts are all averagely hit)
anyway, here's the rules:
- Find the most popular post on your blog
You can discover this either by checking your web statistics service, most number of comments, or simply googling yourself and finding what tops the rankings. Suggestions on using blog trackers like BlogPulse and Technorati are welcomed. If all this sounds too complicated, just go wth your instinct!- Blog the story behind it!
Blog the story behind your most popular post by giving the permalink, what it’s about, how it became popular and how you came to write about it. It’s a great way to see our different blogging strategies. I’ll post mine as an example soon but get started if you get the picture.- Tag “BestBlogForward”
Once you’re done writing, make sure to title and tag it "BestBlogForward”. Link your post back here if you wish to qualify for the contest. Everyone will also be able to see your post over at Technorati if you use the following HTML code: bestblogforward
frankly, it was only recently when i switched to wordpress, then i was more conscious of who links to me, who reads me (my posts i mean), since by default they do have the programme to track the number of hits. and from the records of a month ago, the mostly read post is the one on gay blogs. actually it also includes how the damned moskies always attack me at home, but i guess the catch is about my take regarding gays and the uprising trend of gay blogs. of coz lah. who in the right mind will be interested in how many mosquitoes bite me? hee~
this post actually have 17 views (only – since i'm just a crap blogger). i guess everyone are interested to know how gays live their lives and what they actually do together. it's more of an interest in them, rather than what i blogged about them, i believe. maybe they hoped to actually find links of these gays but i didn't really link them up coz i should think they have enough people who can't accept them and hurl abuses at them in their blogs.
hmm…who are the 3 to tag?? all right, here goes:
- Jaschocolate (haha~ finally my turn to tag you le)
- Black Snow
- Ghost

Thank you very much!
no problem…will look forward to your entry soon. enjoy!
I agree with one of your points: “I am writing for myself, not for anyone else.” As I grew with my blog, I started to realize that I only needed a few good readers, ones that I could really get to know in real-life. You’d also get a few good comments, rather than a hundred trashy ones.
yup…that’s true. sometimes i get swayed by the idea of writing something that interests the readers and then i realised that i was actually ‘killing’ myself trying to think of how to make it more interesting. but hey, i’m not trying to finish some assignment. i should be writing with fun, right?
Would you be happier if you got 17,000 views? Doesn't really matter, does it? Just like you say.
Btw, I have the impression WP is a good home for bloggers, and in combination with participating (crucial key word in the blogging world), you should get more quality audience exposure and participation as well.
Cheers!
absolutjoiz says: well, frankly i get scared if this really hit 17,000. you’ll never know who’s going to read all these which might not be for their eyes. i’m actually pretty comfortable with just a handful of readers though.
yep, wordpress is good. at least i can choose to password-guard some of my posts.
oh, thanks for dropping by here!
