An aphrodisiacal yummy day
Last afternoon we had an invitation to the sister company for a CNY lunch. And as the invitation was extended to us before CNY and that SC Was the one who coordinated, a few of us actually forgot about it. And some couldn’t make it, as a result.
So we had to do a rush job to buy something to bring over. Decided to go over to Chip Bee Gardens (HV) to look at some gourmet food.
We landed up at Bunalun, where organic foodstuff and meals were available. I have not explored that area before, so it was something new to me. I had an urge to buy something for myself in there, which I did eventually.
The place has all sorts of foods, albeit slightly more expensive than normal foods. From teas to wines to pastries to cookies to food ingredients. Yummy place.
Since we had a sizeable budget, we got hold of a lot of stuff. And the owner was quite patient and nice with us.
We got the tea gift set which one box consisted of 6 small bottles of gourmet teas, and the other one 3 big bottles, one including chocolate drinking powder. All different. One box costs about $40.
Then we started to choose some chocolates from the big glass containers they display on the shelf. 3 types of chocolates – white, milk and dark. Then with different fillings. Banana, ginger, almonds, macademia, muscats (a type of grape/raisins), liquorice, coffeebean @ dessicated coconut.
We tried almost everything on the shelf. My personal favourites are the ginger, almond with dusted with cocoa powder, dessicated coconut and coffeebean.
I was practically high on seeing and tasting so many different type of chocolates. Yay!
I ended up buying the coffeebean with milk chocolate. I was divided between that and the one with the dark chocolate. Close match.
The chocolates sell for about $9.00-9.50 per 100gms, while the muscats ones sell for $7.50/100gm. They’re dear, aren’t they?
But mind, they melt very easily. The bag I had was reduced to a mush when I left it in my car, though it was under shade. So guess what I did?
I brought it back to office, let it stand under my office aircon (which is coooooooooold btw) and it went back solid, albeit out of shape and mostly stuck to each other.
But open the bag…wooooooo~ coffee smell whoozes out.
We got 2 bottles of organic cookies and a bottle of Spanish red wine too, to hit our budget. Then the owner wrapped everything for us in a box so that it’ll look presentable.
By the time we reached the lunch venue, I was almost full from all the chocolate tasting. But still I couldn’t resist the chocolate cake from Emicakes which they cut after lunch. Heh.
But it was good….I <3 chocolates.
They have another branch in Singapore (which I have not even noticed before) which details can be found here.
