Blog awards
Ok, let’s talk about something mood-lifting here.
A lot of you people should have heard about the OMY blog awards happening and with all the finalists garnering votes for the different categories.
While all of them are competing against each other to get the most votes and of coz win the new LG phone, I thought there are some worthy blogs which might not have been shortlisted in this contest. Or at least, in my opinion whom I thought were good enough for my liking.

Most entertaining blog: One of the blogs which I liked, is written by Jolene. Whenever I feel down, I almost always feel a bit happier when I read her writings. She came across as someone very jolly and optimistic, and I never failed to laugh whenever I read about her MSN dialogues with her frens, whom she has cute nicks for.
Watch out for her emoticons also. I liked the one where the panda plucks the petals off the flower.
Best photo blog: I personally like Joan’s pictures. Of cos, most of her pictures are of her darling daughter. But who could resist taking pictures of her when she looks so cute and loveable? Very enjoyable read and we literally ‘watched’ Clare being born and growing up.
Best design blog: Priscilla is one creative lady whom I enjoy reading her blog. Although being a design idiot myself, I love looking at her entries where she will frequently introduce the works of her favourite artists. Although her blog layout is not done as elaborately as Veron’s (btw, I like her blog design too and I hope she wins the OMY for this category), most of the time, I liked her self-designed mastheads.
Best blog shop: I seldom read blogs which sells things online, so I’ll choose my personal favourite from the finalist list. I’m attracted to Miss Loi’s and Miss Mao’s blog. Miss Loi – she’s got a very nice blog layout (why didn’t she get into the design category too?) and she has a very unique way of writing her entries interestingly instead of looking too academic. Miss Mao – I like her jewellery design out of wires and clay bits. Nice. She does customisation for you too. Most of her pieces are unique and only one piece.
Best individual blog: Karen Cheng! Need I say more?
Like Joan, she has 2 loveable boys who looked very cute with their antics and behaviour. Other than focusing part of her blog on her boys, she also shows great interest in her everyday lives, trying to make it as colourful as possible. One all-rounder lady, I must say.
Best overseas celebrity blog: Although the first 3 had been finalised at time of writing this entry, I enjoyed reading the blogs of Elva Hsiao (she’s fifth place) and Annie Yi. Elva writes about her travelling, her events promotion, her friends and her life.Unpretentious.
Annie Yi, on the other hand, writes really well (with a few books to her name too). She is one busy lady, jetsetting between countries for her artiste work, as well as taking care of her precious son. She is frank and not afraid to voice out her opinion being a celebrity, and of coz one pretty lady which all of us would die for to have her flawless complexion.
Best local celeb blog: I have several favourites for this category. Cruz Teng (933 deejay), Jamie Teo, Sheylara and Sharon Au.
Cruz – super witty, with his favourite pastime being mj, and his ever famous leg injury which rendered him bai ka for several months. Best of all, he seldom talk about what he writes on air, so it makes his blog interesting because you dun listen to the same thing again.
Jamie Teo – also one all rounder, just married. Complete with brains and brawn. Her entries are short but straight to the point. I enjoy reading her blog and it makes you want to read more. Thank goodness she updates quite regularly.
Sheylara (Qiaoyun)- actress, gamer, blogger, writer. All in one. Her witty entries entertain to no end. Oh yes, and her boyfriend whom she calls the Goonfather. And they make one good, funny pair.
Sharon Au – the ex-compere who went overseas to further her studies. She writes about her life, her friends and she also shares the same agony for exams! An emotional person, and with the different languages she writes her blog in (I use translator to translate what she writes sometimes!), she displays her intellectual side at the same time.
So there, my winners above.
Who are your winners?

Hey thanks for the nice words dear
They didn’t put Jφss Sticks under Best Design coz they probably think that we stand no chance against the existing finalists
In any case, keep on voting!
P.S. Is Karen Cheng running for Best Individual? How come I can’t find her in the list of finalists?
@ Miss Loi: Hehe…you are too modest here.
Nope, Karen Cheng is not in. I think the awards are only for Singapore bloggers, except for the overseas celeb blogs (for obvious reasons). That’s why I called it “absolutjoiz best blog award’, to highlight blogs which I enjoy reading.
sweet. thank you
@ Cruz: No prob. You are as entertaining online and on air. Waiting for you to be back in the morning.
heyyy.. i came across this when i was looking through my referrals. hehe i was very pleasantly surprised and honestly, it made my gloomy sunday better! hehe i’m glad you enjoy reading my random nonsensical posts.. i didn’t know it’d impact anyone haha.
@ Jolene: hihi gal! I’m glad it kinda made your day. Haha…I comment too little in your blog. Will try to comment more now.
Thanks for the panda again.
Continue to write on, I’ll be reading!
Wow, thanks for the kind words! I’m very flattered that you put me in the celebrity category. Unfortunately, I’m not leh. I’m in the Most Entertaining category. Hehe!
hey! thanks for the review! haha..
greatly appreciated~ really sweet of you!
@ Sheylara: I think you should be in both category!
@ Miss Mao: Hihi! I like your designed jewellery. Keep your creative juices flowing, ya?

thanks~
@ Miss Mao: Looking forward to them…
