Irritation to the first degree
Recently, I’m trying very hard not to stress myself out with the stupidity/screwed up attitude of people around me.
The other day, this driver of SGD7840 pissed me off big time at HV. Despite driving a Volvo and being well-dressed, his behaviour sucks big time.
I was waiting for some time for a lot when I finally got one. As I slowly reversed and approaching the lot, this SOB drove head in to the lot. And he clearly knew he did something wrong, coz he got out of the car quickly, closed the door and walked to the front of the car VERY QUICKLY while waiting for his passenger to come out, so as to avoid coming to eye with me and to pretend that he can’t hear me when I shouted at him. Very obvious he did something bad, and didn’t give me a chance to get out of the car safely (it was a corner when a lot of cars were turning past).
Anyway, such assholes are always around. I was sooooo tempted to wear my wooden sandals I’ve got in my car, and go give his car a hard kick. Then I thought I won’t stoop to his level. I believe karma exist and maybe one day his car will be scratched by someone or maybe the next few days he would have gotten a punctured tyre or something.
Then the coordinator in the office also gets on everyone’s nerves. I duno why we keep hiring such coordinators who dun manage to lighten our workloads but add on stress to each and everyone of us. Worse thing is, her attitude is also starting to suck big time.
Clearing faxes was supposed to be one of her duties. Yet, I saw her today (the machine is in front of me) clearing all the fax receipts only and putting back all the other faxes to the printer tray. I had to clear it coz the machine was getting quite a lot of uncleared pieces. Of coz I went to tell her off.
Then I was told that she had been reminded to do the same thing yesterday. Yet things fall on deaf ears.
And a lot of other things which she didn’t think/bother of doing.

And to add on, I got one customer who is really the ultimatum. First, my colleague and I had been trying to get details for his goods before the shipment went, till a few days after the shipment had gone, before he finally gives us the complete details (of coz not before he kept changing his mind about the stuff for the past few days after the shipment). Then started to demand for things which are ridiculous and what we can’t do. Then he starts to get angry thinking that we do not want to assist him. It’s is not the case that we do not want to help, but is unable to help.
And just before I went off today (already off office timing), told me to do add on something to the documents again. We were supposed to collect it tomorrow morning.
I was trying to verify what he wanted us to do, and he started questioning how long I’ve been working with the company and doubting my language skills. It was precisely I had encountered something like that before and there were a lot of misunderstandings because of different perceptions that I needed to make sure that we are understanding the same thing. And it’s not some language proficiency issues but involving technical jargons.
And he tells me that I shouldn’t push all the blame to him. My god, I didn’t even find fault with him. I was just telling him that with the constant changing of details in the documents after the shipment has gone might end up us not being able to do what he wants us to do and end up delaying things.
And finally, he got this attitude that to just hang up the phone after I told him that we cannot help him, or that he hears something which annoys him. It happened many times today. I end up having to call him back.
I amazed myself, that I have not told him off yet.
But I know my blood pressure has gone up these few days.
Arghhhhh!
