To a place which I’ve not been for a very long time
I had a great time with the gals last Friday.
But we chose the wrong location. Raffles City SC was sooooo packed. And I only realised that the AYG people are staying at that hotel.
No wonder can’t get rooms at Swissotel and Intercontinental.
I had a hard time going into the carpark, then I spent some time to look for a lot. The crowd was crazy.
We had to eat at Coffee Club coz everywhere was on waitlist. When I arrived the gals just started to order something.
Come tomorrow, there will be this news of 2 hotel chains in Singapore coming together under one family. First hand news hot off the press coz one of my frens were involved in this. Which and which, wait till the news comes out tomorrow.
And because I had not been there at Raffles City for some time, I saw with surprise that the Cafe Cartel had gone and being replaced by a 24-hour McDees. It was surprising coz Cafe Cartel is always full of people (though frankly IMHO I think the food is not really nice) and I thought it enjoyed good business.
Anyway, because of the AYG people there, the Starbucks, McDees and Gloria Jeans at basement was packed. At 10pm+. It was like playing musical chairs at GJ coz there were some empty tables but chairs was in scarcity.
We parted ways only about 11pm+. Still plenty of people though shops are all closed.
Saturday was dinner with AC who came back for holidays from Brisbane. Dinner was at Akira Japanese Restuarant at Link Hotel, which I thought the quality of food had improved quite a bit. Service was still so-so only though, coz of the fact that not all wait staff are allowed to take orders. And sometimes, some food that we order did not come in the end.
I had my fill of Kajiki sashimi. Yumz.
Then we went to watch Transformers 2. IMO, I thought it was pretty good with the intensity of the actions which kept me awake though I was terribly tired that I felt grouchy. I belong to the group who enjoyed the movie actually. Maybe also because I didn’t expect too much from it before the show. A lot of times people expect too much from a movie because of all the hype, and end up expecting much more than the show can give.
Today….I went to the Robinsons sale at Expo again.
It was actually not meant for that, but for the Adidas sale at the same place. But I was quite disappointed with the Adidas sale. It wasn’t that cheap actually, and though I made some purchases, both were not from Adidas.
And since I was there, I went to the Robinsons sale again since G wanted to take a look. I managed to buy one pair of Nine West heels (again!!!), last pair. Pedro shoes were nice too but I didn’t get any because they were either closed shoes or those with a small peep thru at the top that only shows the big toe. I’m trying to get more strappy heels coz I was told by the manicurist that my big toe nails are a bit ingrown which I thought was caused by wearing too much closed-toed shoes.
The queue was damn long. But quite efficient I must say. Looking at those who queued, I felt a bit under-shopped coz they were either carrying baskets or pushing trolleys while I only held a box, underwear and socks in my arms.
It was raining when I left the place, causing us to abandon plans to bring Caramel out for his romp.
Poor dog. He had not gone out to run for the past 2 weeks, though I did bring him out to my mum’s office.
