Who would have thought of it?

Heard some issues happening to one of my uncles yesterday. Apparently some time ago, my uncle made my cousin the owner of their current residence. And in return, he gave him some money (of coz much lesser than what he would have gotten if he sold the flat instead), probably 意思意思. Then now he wanted to sell the place and make my uncle and auntie move out of the place.

My first reaction: 养儿子什么用？

As in, what’s the use of having a son?

My uncle is now having difficulty in moving, and somewhat a bit senile. He used to be taken around to places and to the doctor  by my cousin’s (the sister of this said cousin) husband who passed away a few months ago. I guessed he wanted to be relieved of the ‘burden’ of taking care of my uncle, thus wanted to ‘chase’ him away so that one of his daughters will take them in.

I told my parents, that parents should never give the whole house to any of their children (indirectly also saying us lah - heh) because you will never know if one day the children will turn against you. Even if they need to, the most make one the co-owner, and leave the other name as one of the parent’s name. Otherwise, if they decide to abandon the parents, then it would just be another sad case.

Anyway, this said cousin’s son is a spoilt brat who has no respect for elders.

We’ll see if karma goes round.

And I won’t be surprised too.
